Hi ! I am going to be posting on here everyday this week . We are doing full-out training with bella everyday . She started out good, when we were lunging her. :

That is about the worst thing you could get a horse to do....not good at all.

okkkkkkkkkk i saw the vid...loooong way to go. You ask her to do ANYTHING and she rears..not good obviously. Looks like you're doin good on the ground work!! 1:why don't you have your feet in the stirrups?? 2: You are practically letting her get away w/ the rearing....put spurs on (she'll probably freak out...just ride it :) ) and GET A BRIDLE on...(how come you don't?) and WORK WORK WORK her thru the rearing. If you are gonna ride her and she rears...just don't even get on cuz you are kinda training her to rear by not getting her thru that.
ReplyDeleteWhy not a bridle? Even if she don't like that, i think you need to get one on her. Use a "baby" SNAFFLE....we have one if you don't. You have to make her get through the rearing, and you're reins are to loose, so you don't really have any control at all.

TWO: iI do put a snaffle on her sometimes. i didnt then , cause i was making sure it wasnt her teeth . like we thought she had thoose reaaly sharp painful ones . ( but she doesnt . ) soo we put the snaffle on . &&

What are some good things to do with her ?
Before we say anything, my Mom says "STOP RIDING THAT HORSE!!!" My mom says shes gonna call your mom or dad and tattle tale on you if she sees you riding that horse...she's dangerous!!! Rearing horses flip over backwards on people, knock them out w/ their heads, etc...Keep in mind this is my MOM saying this and NOT me ☺ ☺ Mom enjoyed the video immensely and the thumbs up...she was laughing at you...but mom says she doesn't want a video of your death. CALL TIM...# below......
ReplyDeleteWhat happens when you really make her work on the ground, and not just follow and stop? When you are standing next to her will she back when you back up..backing up is a submissive gesture. Mom says "You should never ride her in a halter like that, if you are gonna have a halter on her, use a thin rope one...you'll have more control." You can make a "Parelli" rope (a good one) out of marine rope. Teach to move her hips away from pressure and a one handed stop....don't even make your reins into a loop, but leave the rope as one length and bend her to a stop. Call Tim Rodney at 623 935 2864 (ask for Tim) and tell him you are the D's friends. You went to his house on thanksgiving....he is really really good w/ the horses.
